WebHydrophilic sols are made up of macromolecules such as polysaccharides and proteins. They carry an electrical charge due to ionization of functional groups. This charge confers stability, as it does in hydrophobic colloids. Due to their hydrophilic character, they are hydrated, which further increases their stability.
